{"id":31928,"date":"2024-12-04T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-04T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/readcube.wpenginepowered.com\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=31928"},"modified":"2024-11-21T17:18:10","modified_gmt":"2024-11-21T17:18:10","password":"","slug":"importing-grey-literature-into-readcube","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/readcubestg.wpenginepowered.com\/en\/help-center\/importing-grey-literature-into-readcube\/","title":{"rendered":"Importing Grey Literature Into ReadCube"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Grey literature are publications that are created outside of the standard publishing process. &nbsp;Examples of grey literature include reports, theses and dissertations, conference proceedings, patents, &nbsp;press releases, and clinical trials. &nbsp;They are often not indexed in article databases and thus can&#8217;t be imported with metadata or matched within Papers. &nbsp;The process for importing non-indexed grey literature will be the same as manually entering a new publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Have a PDF?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a PDF, you should first import it as a new reference by clicking on the \u201c<strong>Add<\/strong>\u201d button and choosing \u201c<strong>Add Files<\/strong>\u201d. You can then select the publication type and use the PDF preview pane to easily copy citation information from the PDF into the fields. \u00a0Be sure to click on &#8220;Save&#8221; once finished editing the record.<br><br><strong>Otherwise use Manual Entry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t have a PDF, you can manually enter the publication by first clicking on the &#8220;<strong>Add<\/strong>&#8221; button followed by &#8220;<strong>Add Manual Entry<\/strong>&#8220;.
